President: Biodata

Amde Sidik was born in Kg Pantai, Sipitang (46), of Kedayan and Lundayeh by origin. He is also known as Abbih, his kampung name. His early education started at Government Primary School of Kg Pantai.



He attended secondary school at Sekolah Menengah Sipitang now known SMK Pengiran Omar. He was one of the first batches of Fifth formers and of these, the only one who went to United Kingdom so far.

He attended his higher education at Aberdeen College of Commerce, Aberdeen Scotland, City University of London, University of Birmingham, University of Aston in Birmingham, University of Hull, University of Malaya and Australian National University, Australia.

He earned qualifications among them: Diploma in Communications, BA in Communication-Marketing, Postgraduate Diploma in Management-Local Government, Master of Science (MSc) in Management - Strategic Planning, LLB (Hons), Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Australian Capital Territory Bar and attended a certificate course, CLP.

Currently he a Deputy Group Manager for Health and Warfare Division of Yayasan Sabah.

His past positions among others were as Executive Assistant to the Director of Yayasan Sabah, Senior Legal Officer, senior Corporate Planning Officer, Information Officer with Permodalan Bumiputra Sabah, Newspaper reporter and Account Clerk.

He lectured part-time in Marketing at Kinabalu Commercial College, and in law at the University of Kebangsaan Malaysia.

He is the president of Persatuan Kedayan Sabah; he who revived the Persatuan after it was de-registered in 1993.

He is a member of Sabah Law Society, Sabah Journalism Association. He is an advisor to couple of NGOs on the environmental and pollution issues.

A member on Health Committee (advisory) for Sabah Women Council, A Chairman for Paralympik Fund Malaysia Sabah recently

He was the President of Sabah Students Union in the United Kingdom and Ireland in 1981. The 1st President of the Ex-UK Graduates and Professional Association of Sabah. He was a Patron for Sabah Harvest Festival Celebration in London in 1988.

He plays golf occasionally; he likes fishing and travelling as sport.

He is a columnist  (fortnightly) Sunday-Daily Express and he writes to other regional magazines including Asiaweek his articles sometimes excerpted and seen in other magazine like Aliran.

He is a keen photographer-‘trained’ in photojournalism.

Currently he is completing two self-assignments on:

- The Kedayan People

- The Origin of Labuan and Its People
